I have been following the wear counter since I got this computer since I was curious how fast it would happen. I thought this thing was going to last at least 6 years or even much more. Note that this is a simplistic pass/fail test and does not reveal the true health of your storage device. If the status is Healthy, your SSD is in good shape. Select your SSD and click the Properties button. If you see 'OK,' your SSD is operating nominally. Click on Advanced storage settings and choose Disk & volumes. You will now be presented with one of two results in the command prompt. When you open and run the program it’ll give you a bunch of handy info on the selected drive. Type 'diskdrive get status' a nd hit enter. healthy indicates that the SSD is healthy. THis ssd is only about 3-4 years old and I don't think I'm using it heavily. To take a peek under your drive’s hood, first you need to download a free copy of CrystalDiskInfo. device status in the command output indicates the SSD controller health status. Kingston SSD Manager offers the ability to: Monitor your drive’s health, status, and disk usage. ![]() It provides users with the ability to monitor and manage various aspects of their Kingston solid-state drive. Perhaps it isn't percentages since there is no slowing down or any problems yet. Kingston Technology SSDs can be monitored using the Kingston SSD Manager (KSM) application. It was at 97 and I assume at 100 it is supposed to be worn completely. You would have to write tens of gigabytes daily and it would still last for years. I'm aware that ssd wear down, but I thought that was going to be very long time for normal users. I can trough several software see the wear level on my ssd. This computer is also starting to get a bit old and I was thinking of getting new one soon, but if this thing I'm talking about is going to be a problem, then probably very soon than later. ![]() This is my first computer with an ssd so I have no previous experience.
